Purpose

What is the Purpose of ISOSS?

ISOSS has a clearly stated set of Organizational Goals and Objectives which govern and direct its primary activities in its various international locations. But there's a real passion behind those goals and objectives.

In the 1980s while working in Africa, Bryan O. Lowe and his sister Dorothy Lowe-Wilbekin (founders of ISOSS) , were awe-struck with the overwhelming needs of the disabled in the many villages and communities. After finding case after case of neglect, insufficient medical treatment, and deplorable living conditions, they were determined to find a way to make a difference in the lives of the disabled there. They decided to give of their own time, energy and financial resources to affect a change. They have also committed to coordinate the efforts of others who have similar compassion and medical or financial resources that can help.

Bryan Lowe has personally contributed over $5million (USD) in the construction of the new 13 building orthopedic hospital complex (KKOH: Kunta Kinte Orthopedic Hospital) in Ghana. That's how much he believes in the impact of ISOSS. That's the kind of impact all members and supporters of ISOSS continue to have together. We are changing the lives of disabled people - helping them to live longer, better, more self-sufficient lives through independence and improved mobility.

Group of disabled citizens with new wheelchairsEntire families and communities have been affected because ISOSS works closely with family members, village elders, community leaders, and government agencies to reintegrate these less fortunate people back into society and educate the families and communities in which they live. Rehabilitation, corrective surgery, and education are making real changes.

You may not have millions to give, but together our resources can change the world for disabled people. Make a decision today to support ISOSS, and know you're making a real difference where there is a real need.

In the USA, ISOSS is a charitable, non-profit organization. (NPO)
In Ghana, ISOSS is registered as a charitable non-government organization (NGO).
